Yes, I’m a scientist and I wear flower crowns!

As a scientist who loves design, I’m interested in entwining the seemingly unrelated topics of science and design. Both require an incredible amount of creativity and problem solving, and both can significantly impact our lives. I want to show you how and why science and design are so important and how they can be used together.

Science

I received my masters in biology in 2017, where my thesis focused on the cellular signaling of the stress hormone cortisol and the impact it has on hearing loss. Since then, I’ve used the way I learned to think about the world around me in my every day life, and bring that here.

Design

I’ve been interested in interior design ever since I painted my room brown, aqua, teal, and lime green when I was 13, and I continue to experiment with interior design (hopefully with better results!) in my home with my daughter and my husband.

Ordinary Life

I write about science and design in ordinary life, because that’s how I experience these two topics in my life. Through reading my blog, I hope you can start to see it that way too.
